Synopsis:
You must find the objects of power, take them to the Island of Secrets, and use them to restore warmth and light to the world.

Solution:
You will notice some numbers in this solution. They refer to the number of the location where you
have to be in that moment (the numbers are reported in the map). This helps you when you've
been teleported in a random place.

Many events in this adventure are random, making it impossible to elaborate a step-by-step solution.
A good approach is to XSAVE often your position before going places where random things can happen,
e.g. in all the locations where the logmen are. Should things go wrong, you can always XLOAD the
previous position. Only in particular cases you will get stuck in a location because of a random
event: usually, you are relocated in random places, or robbed of some items. You'll easily
recover them on the split-log table (location 42 on the map).

Should you be captured and locked in the logmen's storeroom, which has no exits, you have to
open the trapdoor and go down. You will find yourself in poisoned waters; to increase your chances
and reach the shore, keep heading north. This is valid every time you have to swim, whether you
chose to do it, or you were forced. But remember: you'll NEVER reach the Island swimming!

Keep your strength high with EAT and DRINK commands. You should always have at least 50 strength
points, otherwise some items will fall from your hands. Once on the Island, strength should be more
than 80 (100 if possible), and strength + wisdom should total more than 180, in order to avoid
problems with Omegan and the ghosts in the well of despair. Sometimes, you can TAKE an object not
described in the text, but depicted in the book. Such objects are outlined in yellow in this
walkthrough. You can always choose to see all the hidden items at the beginning of the game.

The verb GIVE is to be conjugated with the given object, omitting the recipient. A second question
will be posed ("to whom?"); you will type in the recipient, using only one word. In this
walkthrough, the GIVE action will be displayed as a single phrase, separated by a comma (e.g., GIVE
APPLE, SNAKE).

1. Preparing for some Secrets

Now you have to move east to west and west to east, until you meet the Canyonbeast (locations 4 and
5), then CATCH CANYONBEAST

Make sure you did not loose any item; if you did, you must go and find them again where you dropped
them, or at location 42 if they were stolen; then, back to 33 or 73, WAIT until the boatman appears,
and remember to EAT and DRINK often.

GO BOAT

You are now carried to the Island of Secrets, location 57. Keep your strength high!


2. On the Island of Secrets
N, SAY STONY WORDS, N, N, TAKE *TORCH*, E, WAVE TORCH, S, GIVE CHIP, SCAVENGER, GIVE FLOWER,
SCAVENGER, SAY REMEMBER OLD TIMES

The man becomes Median, and from now on he follows you.

At this moment, "you are here" (location 39), and this means that all valid exits are
random. Try to keep going north. The solution now continues from the Approach to the Well of Despair
(location 29). Your strength has to be more than 80, better if more than 100.

(29) N, N, E, DROP EGG, DROP COAL

To finish the game, Omegan has to be inside his Sanctum in location 10. If he's not, try to
TAKE CLOAK; you will fail, but Omegan will appear to defend his property.

You have solved the Island of Secrets !!!
